Intelligent people, for example, Karl Marx and Max Weber have proposed significant hypotheses toward understanding the elements of social orders. Marxââ¬â¢s thoughts specifically have significantly influenced later ages of sociologists, including his comrade Max Weber. Marxââ¬â¢s accomplishment lies in endeavoring to clarify social circumstances and issues from the perspective of financial class of constituent gatherings in the public arena. Max Weber, who was a replacement to the financial diagnostic custom set up by Marx, mentioned basic objective facts of huge numbers of Marxââ¬â¢s hypotheses and united the socialist way of thinking. (Bonner, 1998, p.166) While Weber made significant commitments to Marxââ¬â¢s work, he additionally acquired interesting sociological points of view to socialist critique. In this sense, Weberââ¬â¢s way to deal with clarifying the ascent of present day society can be expressed as a ââ¬Ëdebate with the apparition of Karl Marxââ¬â¢. Above all else, Weber concurred with a significant number of Marxââ¬â¢s perspectives, most strikingly their mutual perspective on state power in present day social orders. To outline this point let us think about the job of police. The police, in logical inconsistency to its job as the defender of individuals, typically will in general ensure the premiums of the rich and incredible. It is this perception which incited Weberââ¬â¢s to comment during a discourse in 1918 that ââ¬Å"the state effectively guarantees the restraining infrastructure of the genuine utilization of physical power inside a given territoryâ⬠(Bakker, 1999, p.291). Here, Weber was just emphasizing Marxââ¬â¢s evaluation of the inclinations of the state and its organizations. While concurring and combining a large number of Marxââ¬â¢s hypotheses, Weber likewise endeavored to refine and grow them. This is particularly obvious concerning the job of religion in political and financial undertakings. Whi le Marxââ¬â¢s leanings toward secularism are all around reported, he didn't appropriately assess the impact applied by religion in issues of legislative issues and financial aspects. Weber, then again, saw religion to be urgent to society and consequently included strict contemplations close by monetary ones. Despite the fact that Weber advanced the comprehension of the then developing entrepreneur world request, he didn't totally denounce it as Marx did. Weberââ¬â¢s works stress the impact of strict convictions in the issues of state and society. For instance, during his lifetime Christianity was the predominant strict belief system in Germany and the majority of Europe. So Weber declared that the ascent and thriving of entrepreneur monetary frameworks had their underpinnings in the Christian ethic. As it were, the seeds for the possible blooming of modern free enterprise in Europe from the eighteenth century onwards were at that point clear in the ethical structure holding t he system together as molded by standards spread out by Christianity. To be sure, Weber accepted that the political and financial organizations of a country are formed by its prevailing strict belief system. (Sayer, 1991) In spite of the distinctions in their accentuation, both Marx and Weber incredibly affected researchers, lawmakers and analysts for a long time into the future. All the more significantly, their hypotheses and bits of knowledge have an immediate intrigue to laypeople, for the condition of financial and political association of society has an immediate and quick bearing on its individuals. Marx and Weber can likewise be attributed for making sociological talk open to everyone. Furthermore, thusly, they extended the range of the order to a more extensive crowd and empowered it to decipher typical occasions in exceptional manners. While Karl Marx will be recognized as the most persuasive political researcher of the cutting edge time, Max Weber will be associated with adding new measurements and translations to Marxââ¬â¢s assortment of work. It is therefore that Weberââ¬â¢s way to deal with clarifying the ascent of present day society can be expressed as a ââ¬Ëdebate with the ap parition of Karl Marxââ¬â¢. References Bakker, J. (1999). Involvement of USA in Korean War Essay Example for Free
Association of USA in Korean War Essay Not quite the same as its association in the Vietnam War? In the 40㠯⠿â ½s onwards USA got inspired by Asian undertakings. Considering the way that they were not shielding themselves or some other American partner, they needed to additionally stretch out regional limits to fall on political-ideological outskirts. Surely, they were guarding its region from foes in another scale: the dread against the creating socialism over the world. In these lines, Korea and Vietnam depicted two worldwide hotspots presently centered around Asia, as the phase inside the battle of the two worldwide forces: USA and the Soviet Union. In any case, were the conditions by which USA confronted socialism in the two nations extraordinary? Above all else, the foundation in South-East Asia decided in extraordinary scale American mediation in the zone, since either nation were involved by other remote forces: while Korea was under Japanese control, Vietnam despite everything remained some portion of the French domain (later turning out to be individual from the French Union). The primary instance of Korea was at that point been the phase of the war among popular government and socialism. USA was very on edge since the contention that had just occurred in Germany and the one that was going on in Turkey and Greece, the two cases falling under soviet convictions. After the annihilation of the Chinese Kuomintang in 1949, by socialist Mao, American pioneers started expecting that the fast spread of the framework around the globe would be effective once again in Asia. Consequently, USA chose to hazard and take a stab at acquiring a new area that would give them a partner in East Asia, which, thus, would give it an opportunity to design more endeavors and new triumph against socialism. Along these lines, they battled against the Japanese settlement as a reason to free the domain for the sake of majority rule government. In any case, the Soviet Union was additionally exceptionally inspired by the region for similar reasons: another partner and triumph against free enterprise. At any rate, the entire domain was right off the bat liberated under the name of United Nations, towards majority rules system, for help free people groups who are loathing endeavor enslavement. Anyway the two forces guaranteed their part very soon. The two forces set up a divisor line along the 38th equal, where the North would be under Soviet point and the South by American mediation. At that point, in spite of the fact that decisions were held in South Korea (August 1938) upheld by UN, Russia dismissed to do as such in the North. The South turned into the autonomous Republic of Korea and the North received the name of Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea, particularly in the lines of Chinese framework. The pressure currently stayed extremely high at either sides of the line. Since the leader of North Korea when, Kin IL Sung may have been supported by the Chinese government and Russia with military supplies to test USA President, Trumans assurance, giving him that socialism was the prevailing force in Pacific Asia, additionally with the guarantee of spreading further very soon. At that stage, the domino hypothesis was starting in American personalities. This idea applies to the possibility that the fall of one state to a typical framework would lead unyieldingly to a progression of the equivalent. Thusly, if socialism triumphed in China and Korea was at that point under its impact, the wave could have a boundless repercussion in the whole zone of South-East Asia. In this way, behind these thoughts, American soldiers were requested to Korea to pull back North Koreans troops after their intrusion in the south republic, together with powers from another 14 nations all under the order of General McArthur. In any case, a short time later, South Korea was nearly taken by North Korea troops however American soldiers recovered control in the domain later and furthermore 66% of North Korea, in its development northwards. With this development, they in the end set an armada among Taiwan and China territory. Along these lines, China presently dreaded them to help Chiang Kai-Shek troops from the island to return again and overcome the district of Manchuria as the most significant modern and vital region. This endeavor, if effective, would remove the issue of socialism in Asia, since China would turn around to majority rule government and accordingly either North Korea would stay secluded or without Chinese assistance, she would not have the option to make due in the territory for long. These reasons made the Chinese government dispatch a monstrous counter hostile in 1951 that caught South Korea capital once more. Presently McArthur feared Chinese force and felt that the best procedure to crush socialism in the zone was just conceivable with nuclear bombs. With this new skyline inside the battle, president Truman dreaded a huge scope war that would incite an atomic war, which USA didn't need. It brought up the American impediments that would wall them in inside the battle: they dreaded socialism in light of the fact that the atomic force that could annihilate them, yet the main power fit to overcome it was their atomic force, something that, be that as it may, they couldn't use since it would drag them into a lethal war. In this way, presently, the main American chance centered to settle in East Asia to contain socialism there: in January 1951 UN troops removed the North Koreans troops from South Korea and braced the boondocks, until in July 1953, the two nations solidified a harmony understanding that expressed the cutoff at the 38th equal. After American inconceivability for extension of regions in East Asia, the new advance must be engaged in the South, because of the autonomy of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia from the French Union (Geneva Agreement, 1954). At that point, Vietnam was incidentally separated into two nations, and similarly as Korea, the boondocks was set up at another equal, for this situation the seventeenth one. In 1956, races were to be held in the entire nation, however they never were and just in South Vietnam a choice was held in 1955, which gave Ngo Dinh Diem as the president. He would not like to hold races for the entire nation and USA, with Eisenhower as the new president dreaded considerably more seriously the domino impact. In addition, Diem couldn't govern the nation, for the most part since he was disagreeable among the laborers, which furthover, later on empowered reluctant towards American nearness in the south and appetence for socialism. At this stage the Vietcong (the guerrillas) in the south were accepting supplies, hardware and troops from North Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh, who was pioneer of the opposition against French Union and who needed socialism to administer the nation, felt that offering help to South Vietnam against Diem, national decisions would not be held and to bring together the nations powers would be vital. Hence, the following American administrations needed to dispatch a solid crusade to stop the socialism wave in Vietnam: - Kennedy (1961-3) attempted to keep American inclusion against the guerrilla, by sending guides, military hardware and encasing neighborhood laborers into braced towns to confine the Vietcong outside. Be that as it may, this fizzled since the greater part of the workers were individuals from the Vietcong. - Johnson (1963-9) chose to bomb North Vietnam (1965), as he believed that Ho Chi Minh controlled straightforwardly the Vietcong. He likewise sent half million soldiers in the south. Be that as it may, because of the extraordinary weight of American open against the war, since they considered the to be as an all out disappointment, Johnson halted the besieging in March 1968, in spite of the fact that he would not like to pull back. - Nixon (1969-74) based his arrangement in the new idea of Vietnamization: As general conclusion didn't permit him to send more soldiers to Vietnam, he would utilize the ones that were at that point there to re-armed force the Vietnamese armed force keep their own resistance. That would permit bit by bit American soldiers to pull back. In any case, he started another flood of bombarding in the north, however this time including Cambodia and Laos, as they were accepting supplies and troops from North Vietnam. In spite of the considerable number of measures and approaches, toward the finish of 1972, the Vietcong controlled nearly the whole region and a few variables committed the American mediation to arrive at the end. In the long run a truce was concurred in January 1973. At that point, American soldiers were pulled back and in 1975 the Vietcong bound together the entire nation under a socialism government by involving Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam. Additionally in Laos and Cambodia the framework was set up that year. Considering every one of these clarifications, I can express that there were slight contrasts between the American strategies in both the Korean and the Vietnamese wars. The fundamental explanation was the potential power utilized in every one, and China had a significant influence. It applies to the way that the assault against them was not as heartless as in Vietnam, for the most part because of Chinese force. While in Vietnam neither China nor Russia upheld the military as straightforwardly as in Vietnam, in Korea China was legitimately included since the issue was insulted related with the connection among USA and Chiang Kai-Shek troops. For China, American soldiers recouped Manchuria, they would give back China territory to them. Socialist China was not ready to acknowledge that, and USA realized that she was equipped for battling boldly to a degree that USA would not like to test, since the split of the Sino-Soviet understanding left China in an unsure circumstance from the universal perspective: We don't need the battling in Korea to venture into a general war. In this manner, American government didn't chance without a doubt and the main value was to lose North Korea. By the by, in Vietnam they could utilize a progressively fierce framework as they socialist China was at that point built up and didn't fear USA any more. Also, the contention was seen under UN eyes: exclusively to reestablish the Republic to its status before the intrusion. For worldwide help, it was a battle towards the human rights, since North Korea under socialism would not like to hold races. In any case, UN never upheld the war in Vietnam and the worldwide perspective on the war and American techniques to be triumphant squeezed the legislature

Introduction In January 2013, the USS Guardian ran aground on the Tubbataha Reefs in the Palawan province of the Philippines, harming over 2,000 square meters of the protected environment (The Philippine Star 2014). Not to mention, the reefs are important in supplying nearby fisheries, ultimately providing food and livelihoods for millions of Filipinos (TRNP c. 2012). Since the Tubbataha Reefs play a key role in the marine ecosystem, President Corazon Aquino signed the Presidential Proclamation 306 in 1988, which created the TRNP as the first marine protected area (MPA) of the Philippines (Dygico 2006). This meant that the national government, rather than the municipal government of the nearby island, Cagayancillo, held management jurisdiction over the park. The legislation also prohibited the gathering of any corals and marine life within the

This is essentially the debate of the phenomenological approach versus the mechanistic approach (Watson, 1963, 162). The companyââ¬â¢s unique mission in business is stipulated by its organizational motto, which bears the slogan, ââ¬ËWhole Foods, Whole People, Whole Planet.ââ¬â¢ This paper provides an in-depth analysis of the trends ap plied by the company in retailing organic foods and its competitive power in the market as it is observed from the provided case. The organic food sector has shown consistent growth in the past several years. Some of the key factors contributing to this abundant growth would include more consumers getting informed through education and conscious concerns of health that processed food products are likely to bring to humans. These practices have further facilitated developments in the sector over the time as mainstream supermarkets continue to utilize the available opportunities to diversify their selection of organic and natural products. Some of the most common trends pertaining the retail of organic food products in the industry include the ups and downs within the farming sector, concerns of the environment, and concern of healthy lifestyles. All these trends would have a significant impact in Whole Foods Market. Uncertain climatic patterns for instance, would negatively influence the supplies of the products in the market, leading to shortages in case of a bad season. More importantly unavoidable weather situations such as tornadoes and hurricanes can also occur anytime, contributing to loss of crops. Regarding environmental concerns, consumers tend to believe that organic products come with positive effects towards the conservation of the environment. It is also understandable that people are now paying more attention than ever before, to what they ingest. In that case, the necessary steps are being applied in diverse settings to promote healthier lifestyle for individuals and families.Advertising Looking for case study on business economics? Food 2008 is a major player in the American food industry. Competition of th e key players in the American food industry has increased rampantly in the past few years, owing to the heightening demand for organic and natural food products. Most Whole Food products target all categories of people in the society. These products have continued to attract increasing consumer concerns from across the states owing to their unique market standards. It is easier to evaluate the competitive environment of the company using Michael Porterââ¬â¢s competitive forces that shape competition strategy. The five forces as observed by Porter include bargaining power of consumers, threat of new entrants in the market, suppliers bargaining power, competitive rivalry, and substitute products. Bargaining Power of Consumers The company is known for its commitment and involvement in charity missions among other community citizenship activities. More importantly, all these would happen as the firm continues to maintain its quality standards on all their products. In that case, the firmââ¬â¢s customers have less bargaining power since their demands and requirements are appropriately catered for and in the most charming manners. However, owing to the increasing number of players in the food industry, buyers are likely to learn new ways in the long run, thus gaining added advantage on negotiating leverage. This way, consumers would tend to shift to other vendors on realization that they can always land on an equivalent product from the market. Threat of New Entrants in the Market As it would be observed, the initial concept of Whole Food Market was more innovative. However, current market trends are pushing the firm far from the scope of innovation and into mainstream. According to USDA, the overall production of organic food products has been going up since the year 1990 in all regions, making organic food products the fastest advancing segment of agriculture. Rapid growth of market, coupled with minimal barriers to entry has attracted many participants in t he industry, thus leading to stiff competition in the market. Suppliers Bargaining Power Just like any other firm, Whole Foods Market largely depends on a wide range of suppliers for its products. In most cases, some of these supplier groups have been active and powerful in determining the companyââ¬â¢s competitive strategy in a number of ways. For instance, much attention is given to food processors in the country, which enjoy all the bargaining power. Only a very little percentage of farms are used for organic and natural food products.Advertising We will write a custom case study sample on Whole Foods Trends specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Competitive Rivalry Whole Foods Market faces great rivalry presently, from the many competitors in the food industry. In normal circumstances, some of the common ways through which the firm is affected by rivalry include introductions of new products and services, improvement of services , advertising campaigns and price discounting among other implications. The fact that competitors in the food industry are numerous and roughly equal in power is enough to increase the intensity of rivalry or competition in the market and this reduces the productivity levels of Whole Foods Market. Substitute Products The company faces a high threat of substitutes from conventional food products that are processed artificially in the country. For example, many people in the U.S. would tend to see fast foods such as snacks and drinks as more convenient, compared to other food stuffs that are made at home. Most of these fast foods are artificially processed and preserved, and they pose serious threats to the firmââ¬â¢s productivity. In most cases, these cheap preserved foodstuffs would tend to offer a significant price-performance trade-off to the natural and organic food products offered by the company. In such circumstances, it is easy for buyers to turn to conventional retailers, as there is no cost for doing so. In this regard, these substitutes have continued to limit the companyââ¬â¢s profits and earnings in normal times. Competition from major rivals in the industry remains the most significant threat to the firm. This also includes the stiff competition posed by conventional stores across the states. According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the year 2000 would see most conventional supermarkets in the country sell more organic food products, compared to the countryââ¬â¢s natural food stores. Even though a recognized leader in the supply of organic and natural food products, the company continues to suffer the cost of a high market competition from existing and new ventures in the market. In order to successfully combat this threat, the company should adopt an effective strategy that incorporates three significant tactics: Market, Product, and Operational. In regard with marketing and product, things such as quality product s, fair prices and effective ways of promotion would apply. On the other hand, operational strategy would incorporate the use of effective and exclusive store operations for improved outcomes.Advertising Looking for case study on business economics? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More Whole Foods SWOT Analysis Strengths Huge variety items/products Marketer of nationally known food products Outstanding experience in the market Large stores Weaknesses Low advertisement budget Higher prices Location of most stores in affluent regions Lack of coupons in promotional offers Opportunities Effective advertisement and promotion to attract more customers Introduction of rewards systems for consumers Expansion of private label selection Introduction of cost-effective ways that will favor customers Threats Bad or uncertain economy Availability of local farmers Conventional stores and supermarkets regular changes in government regulations on natural and organic food products It is possible for Whole Foods to achieve a sustained competitive advantage over its competitors in the market simply by making effective use of these strengths and opportunities. For example, the company deals with a variety of products that are nationally accepted as foods, and this could be a c ertain way of attracting and retaining huge numbers of consumers in the market. More importantly, the company has great business potential considering their large stores located allover the country. These facilities can be utilized in a number of useful ways, apart from only acting as selling stores. Holding exhibitions and educational forums regarding the products on sale to potential consumers are some of the useful ways of utilizing the stores. Effective promotional strategies would help in publicizing the companyââ¬â¢s products whereby the introduction of a reward would play a significant role in the attraction and retention of consumers in the companyââ¬â¢s products. Personal understanding of crime commission Essay - 1
Personal understanding of crime commission - Essay Example The high interest rates and his low income structure had caused him to miss the previous payment deadlines of the loan, and now, John had been threatened to pay back his loan in two days time or else violent measures would be used against him. John had been a good speech maker in his academic life. Because of his confidence and genuine speaking skills, he had represented his school and college in various debate competitions and had been the winner in a few of them as well. These skills can be attributed to his love for public speaking. Because of this, he had also liked creative writing and hence decided to pursue a career as a writer for a newspaper. John is in debt, and he must repay his loan within twenty four hours. Because he has not worked for one company for a long time, he is not counted as a loyal employee and cannot take a loan from the employer. Nor can he borrow from a family member or financial institution. The only option, therefore, left for him is to attain the required sum illegally. There are many illegal options for John that he could consider to achieve his $4000 goal. However, the limited time of just two days would make this task very challenging for him. He just has time to execute one single plan which should be big enough to get him to the $4000 mark. As John would begin to think about the possible ways to get the money, he would start to look within his immediate domain for the right option. The first option that he would have is to defraud his employer. He could try and get access to the accounts department and help his way to the money present. The problem with this approach, however, is that even a local newspaper printing company today, has a secure IT structure present within the company. Due to technological advancements, companies do not have to carry physical cash within their offices to run the daily operations. This means that John would need to have adequate IT skills

Problems and differences with gender in business accounting Research Paper
Problems and differences with gender in business accounting - Research Paper Example The glass ceiling barriers are evident even among students who exhibit the interest of pursuing a career in accounting. This paper will discuss gender differences and problems in the accounting field. Business accounting is a field that was saturated by men initially, with few women taking up the career. Many people considered it a career designated for men because it is highly demanding, and patriarchal attitudes dictated that only men had the resilience to hold such pressure. Although women have ventured into this career in the recent past, research reveals that gender differences still exist in this career (Shalhoub 1). Although women have proven their resilience and breaking the first layer of the glass ceiling barriers placed before them in this career, it is evident that they have multiple barriers resulting from the remaining composite glass ceiling. Although women have gained entry into this career, and have excelled in different certifications of accounting, gender issues st ill pose a barrier. Evidently, the competition in the business world has served to raise the bar for many people who intend to adopt a career progression in accounting (Tsamenyi and Uddin 123). Many women have advanced education in this accounting exhibiting the potential of competing with men in academic qualifications. However, despite having the academic qualifications and making efforts to advance their education after gaining entry into the career, it proves difficult for women to receive promotions. Evidently, many senior accountants are men, with organizations preferring to reserve that post for males. Although they have the relevant qualifications, gender stereotypes prevent women from progressing faster in their career. Such stereotypes motivate male employers to hire make accountants, and if women are hired, they are placed in the lower ranks in the accounting department (Riahi-Belkaoui 87). This has made it difficult for women to break the glass ceiling barriers completel y. In comparison to male accountants, women are likely to register longer time before they receive a promotion. In other cases, women with similar academic backgrounds to men may be placed at a lower rank than the men. Men exhibit negative attitudes that serve to limit women because of the technicality of the accounting job. This presents a problem when women receive promotions because the men may work towards proving that women lack the required competence for the job. Instead of offering the right kind of support, men may serve to make the responsibilities of the women tougher. In reaction to the negative attitudes, some women often embark on proving that they have fit for the job instead of promoting organizational financial goals. The accounting department often works closely with other departments, and may face the compulsion to make critical decisions that can pose serious consequences for the organization. This is one of the aspects that has contributed to the development of stereotypes that prevent female accountants from being considered for promotions. Many men believe that women lack the capacity to make such critical decisions (Kuersten 67). In cases where women hold the office of senior accounting, and exhibit the competence of making such decisions, men are likely to feel inferior. Such factors often trigger problems

Critique of Gallery Shows of Asian Art Essay Example for Free
Critique of Gallery Shows of Asian Art Essay Asian art can refer to the vast genre of art and artists throughout the Asian continent. The history of Asian art is as varied as the cultures that make up this region of the world. From ancient bronze sculptures in India to the Manga cartoons of Japan, each country has a distinctive perspective on the world around them. In this paper I will look at three proposals for gallery shows of Asian art, each completely unique in their view of Asian culture. The first group looks at ââ¬Å"Pop culture in Asiaâ⬠focusing on the works of artists Wang Guangyi, Satoshi Kon, Takashi Murakami, and Basak Aditya, as well the art of Japanese tattoos. Organizing such conflicting works together seems disjointed and lacking coherence. Indeed the idea of Pop culture in Asia could be defined in multiple ways, but this grouping lacks consistency and logic. Works by Wang Guangyi, Satoshi Kon and Takashi Murakami, each with their pop art style and references, would be a good match for a show focusing on pop culture. Wang Guangyi reinvents propaganda posters from the 1960ââ¬â¢s and 70ââ¬â¢s into capitalist propaganda posters, using the same triangular composition and palette. Takashi Murakami is known for his sculptures of highly stylized cartoon or invented characters, referring to the popular culture of Japan or contemporary films. Satoshi Kon is a director of animated films that are loaded with Japanese cultural references and symbolism. I believe the work of these three artists would have been enough for a succinct show of Pop culture in Asia. The addition of the works of Basak Aditya and Japanese tattoos makes this grouping lose its focus. Although the work of Basak Aditya, with his poetic landscapes and dream-like portraits, is interesting, it is not a good fit because they are too personalized and make no references to the pop culture of India. And finally the addition of Japanese tattoos just seems like an arbitrary decision. Although some tattoos may have pop cultural references, the inclusion of photographs of skin art is incompatible with the cohesion of the first three artists in the grouping. The next group ââ¬Å"Art and Powerâ⬠successfully showed a variety of artwork that represented power throughout the ages. Beginning with paintings from the Chinese era of emperors and using concise language to demonstrate their interpretation of power. This group then looks at the brass and copper sculptures of Buddha, Shiva, and Jambhala, clearly demonstrating the power of religion in the regions of Tibet and India. Next are a grouping of decorative and ceremonial items from Korea, signifying the power of the ruling and upper-classes of ancient Asia. This grouping ends with a group of painting and sculpture of samurais and two thangka paintings. The overall consistency of the objects and paintings used for this grouping makes for a successful exhibition. All the works chosen were clearly indicative of power in this well organized grouping. Finally the last group chose ââ¬Å"Asian Animationâ⬠as a theme. Again this is a clear and well put together group of mostly Japanese cartoons and figures. This group first looks at the work of Satoshi Trajiri, and the media franchise of Pokemon. This group clearly spent time on creating colorful cartoon-like backgrounds to add to their clear, well planned presentation. They then look at the illustration work of Akira Toriyama and his colorful, well defined sharp edge illustrations. The group then looks at toys and costumes that are created from these cartoons and comics, again using a similar background to unify the presentation. Although some of the content is repeated at the end of the grouping, the overall vision of presenting these comics and cartoons as art forms is cohesive and easy to understand. The group points out how important comics as an industry is to Japan and their cultural affects throughout the world.

Gangs and Violence :: Gangs Violence Psychology Essays
Gangs and Violence Gangs are a violent reality that people have to deal with in today's cities. What has made these groups come about? Why do kids feel that being in a gang is both an acceptable and prestigious way to live? The long range answer to these questions can only be speculated upon, but in the short term the answers are much easier to find. On the surface, gangs are a direct result of human beings' personal wants and peer pressure. To determine how to effectively end gang violence we must find the way that these morals are given to the individual. Unfortunately, these can only be hypothesized. However, by looking at the way humans are influenced in society, I believe there is good evidence to point the blame at several institutions. These include the forces of the media, the government, theatre, drugs and our economic system. Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã On the surface, gangs are caused by peer pressure and greed. Many teens in gangs will pressure peers into becoming part of a gang by making it all sound glamorous. Money is also an crucial factor. A kid (a 6-10 year old, who is not yet a member) is shown that s/he could make $200 to $400 for small part time gang jobs. Although these are important factors they are not strong enough to make kids do things that are strongly against their morals. Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã One of the ways that kids morals are bent so that gang violence becomes more acceptable is the influence of television and movies. The average child spends more time at a TV than she/he spends in a classroom. Since nobody can completely turn off their minds, kids must be learning something while watching the TV. Very few hours of television watched by children are educational, so other ideas are being absorbed during this period of time. Many shows on television today are extremely violent and are often shown this from a gang's perspective. A normal adult can see that this is showing how foully that gangs are living. However, to a child this portrays a violent gang existance as acceptable. 'The Ends Justifies the Means' mentality is also taught through many shows where the "goody guy" captures the "bad guy" through violence and is then being commended. A young child sees this a perfectly acceptable because he knows that the "bad guy" was wrong but has no idea of what acceptable apprehension techniques are.

Disability Form
Good day! I am writing this letter to shed light on a recent incident that I have unfortunately been tied up in. as you may well know, I have been working for Borgota for five years. Over this time, I have been efficient and effective in the discharge of my functions and responsibilities. As fortune would have it, I have found myself in disability for the first time. As such, I was not fully aware nor was I apprised of the necessity of filing certain disability claims in order for me to receive my disability check. This led to the failure of the Department of Labor to process my disability checks for the past six weeks. I have never been one to shirk on my responsibilities and neither am I one to blame my misfortunes on other people. Yet, in this instance, I feel that my predicament warrants my action on this matter. Given my disabled status, I have had several difficulties adjusting to normal life and to normal routines.Understandably, it was difficult for me to adjust as I had to de al with this situation on my own. I am not asking for pity or sympathy but rather the understanding for somebody who is in my situation. Times are difficult and this disability of mine does not make things easier, as such, I am imploring your aid so that I can try to move on from this circumstance and soon pick myself up so that I can once again be a productive member of society.

The Slave Labor Camp, Buna, By Primo Levi - 1051 Words
From birth, three basic necessities are recognized as vital in order to sustain life, those being clothing, shelter, and food (which also includes water). With these three basic requirements met, a human can survive. However surviving and living oneââ¬â¢s life fully as a human are separate things, and the question must be asked does the limitation of food to the bare minimum required to continue sustaining oneââ¬â¢s body begin to also impinge on oneââ¬â¢s humanity (which for the purposes of this paper will be defined as the entire human existence, physically, emotionally, and otherwise) in a more thorough way? Food is a prime example of how the slave labor camp, Buna, as told by Primo Levi in his memoir Survival in Auschwitz, attempted to dehumanize Levi. Levi begins with the journey (the literal one) at a camp in Italy where he is being held. It was announced by the Germans that Jews would be leaving the camp - destination unknown. Loaded onto buses, the crowds were ta ken to a train station where they boarded and were off. Levi recalls the discomfort of the train and accounts of others around him. Upon arrival, the men and women were separated, and soon thereafter Levi, unaware the same fate awaited him, first witnessed a prisoner. From entering the camp and onward, he is confused by the atrocities occurring around him. Levi goes through the motions of admittance, shower, tattoo, new uniform, barrack assignment and then began the long tortuous year, where his will was soShow MoreRelatedAuschwitz: a Prisoner Camp, an Industrial Camp, and a Death Camp3326 Words à |à 14 PagesAuschwitz: a prisoner camp, an industrial camp, and a death camp ââ¬Å"â⬠¦Imagine now a man who is deprived of everyone he loves, and at the same time of his house, his habit, his cloth, in short, of everything he possesses: he will be a hollow man, reduced to suffering and needs, forgetful of dignity and restraint, for he who loses all often easily loses himself.
